Modern intelligence is not about spelling or taking exams. It’s about the relevant combination of many forms of media to form fast multiple messages. It’s about participation and improvisation. Brands, computer games, websites, mobiles have learnt these new ways of presenting information and entertainment much more quickly than schools. More important than the ability to remember is the ability to find, absorb and move through vast amounts of information and stimulation. This is about discovering what is useful, rather than adhering to a prescribed or inherited canon of knowledge. A shift from being taught to working something out for yourself.
