The left hemisphere of the neocortex is the rational, orderly, logical, academic part of us, capable of understanding mathematical concepts, vocabulary and grammar. Being fearful, it likes to work with details, firm ‘facts’ or known situations. This powerful organ has no direct connection with the heart or emotional centre and can act in isolation. It creates our sense of separateness.
When we experience inadequate love, the ‘left brain’ activates a lifelong survival mindset, which restricts us from opening the great range of possibilities we all innately have. Its major development phase is from age 7 to 21 years.
